Chief Woody Downing Remembrance Celebration of Life Drive By El Cajon Cruise Night June 23, 2021 4PM till 7PM

The Remembrance Drive By for Chief Woody Downing will take place at 114 South Sunshine Avenue and West Main Street, El Cajon during Cruise Night, Wednesday June 23, 2021, from 4 to 7PM.

Participant car entry for the Drive By will enter via West Douglas Ave, from either direction turning North onto South Sunshine Ave heading to West Main Street. Look for barricade entry at the alley way crossing of South Sunshine Avenue continuing North passing the GOB  Club Cars, EZ-Up with display table, t-shirts and condolence books, an antique fire truck , then turning right onto West Main Street and continuing with normal cruise night activities.  Please free to walk up as well or to return to sign the condolence book and select a t-shirt.

Volunteers will admit vehicles through both barricades and volunteers will give each participant car a Woody Downing Remembrance Program. The display table will have condolence books for anyone to sign and condole for Woody with volunteers to assist you. The display table will have his entire collection of personal hot rod t-shirts from every car event over the last 25 years, all of which will be available free to anyone who would like one or more. Volunteers will be there to help you select from collection of shirts all generally 4XXL. Woody size.

We will have room for GOB Cars on the East and West side of South Sunshine in the Drive By area including volunteer cars. We will need some folks to look after both barricades on Sunshine Ave plus folks to hand out Remembrance programs to Drive BY participants and folks to help with T shirts and condolence books. There will be no food served in the Remembrance area but please stop  in at American Retro Bakery &  Diner downtown El Cajon   .  American Retro Bakery & Diner is one of the Woody’s favorite places to eat in the downtown area. Stop in and enjoy some food on June 23, 2021 or anytime. 

Setup will be done between 300pm and 4pm on Wednesday June 23, 2021. Cruisenight folks officially block this street to the public at 3PM which is driving setup of the display table, fire truck and parking club cars.
